Sanitizing the SpaThere are two key elements to keeping the water safe to use. Disinfecting and oxidation. DisinfectingThis aspect of caring for the spa (hot tub) is what most people think of when they think of taking care of their spa. Actually keeping the water germ free is pretty simple. You could simply add the proper amount of chlorine to the water and enjoy the soothing effects of the hot water. Unfortunately we then have a smelly, eye burning, irritating hot tub that bleaches our bathing suits. But we then have water that is safe to use. To create a water environment that is inviting to use, many have searched for a combination of factors to help lower the amount of effort required while increasing the quality of the water environment. Talk to 10 water professionals and you will receive 10 different ways to treat the water so it is safe to use. What is represented here is Colorado Spas & Leisure's recommended way of sanitation. It is by no means THE way, nor is it the ONLY way to achieve high quality water that is safe to use with the least amount of effort. But is is what we have found to be an easy and comfortable way to enjoy the hot tub with the minimal amount of effort.
